ISLAND TOUR - KALYMNOS. Welcome at Kalymnos: After the arrival at Pothia - Kalymnos we first visit one of the oldest sponge factories of the island: Papachatzis. We take the bus towards the Monastery of Agios Savvas where are the relics of the Saint. On the way back to the harbour we visit as well the Traditional House of Kalymnos. On the road to Myrties, there is the ruin of the Basilica "Christos of Jerusalem" for a small stop. Myrties itself is a quiet village for a visit. Very nice panoramic view with on the opposite site the island of Telendos - once together with Kalymnos. Enjoy the views of the sea on the left and the mountains on the right with the climbers coming from all over the world. When we arrived at Emborios – the last village of Kalymnos – there are the possibilities for a swim and/or lunch in one of the seaside taverns. After lunch we start again to visit the North side of the island with a stop on the top of the mountain for the panoramic view towards Vathy. Vathy – what means deep – Is a very nice fjord with on the slopes of the mountains and in the valley many plantages of oranges, lemons ... Here is time for a coffee with the nice view of the Vathy Fjord. Return to Pothia for the ferry to Kos.
