HIKING at Kalymnos. Italian path (Pothia): 3 hours hike across the island of Kalymnos from Pothia to Vathy. Around 4 km. Moderate+ walk. Departure from Pothia village, a charming walk through the narrow streets of the village (10 min), passing the Kalymnos Museum.We start the hike on paved path built by the Italians about 80 years ago and we will walk up for an hour on this amazing construction that leads to a large plateau on the top and then goes down to the green valley of Vathy. Along the walk, you will enjoy the view of Kos, Turkey, Pothia and Vathy! You will see ancient wells, terraces and ruins, typical vegetation of Kalymnos such as thyme, oregano and sage. Profitis llias (Chora): 3 hours hike to the summit of Kalymnos (all. 852m). Around 5 km moderate+ walk. Departure from Chora village, a charming walk through the narrow streets of the village (10 min).We start the hiking on a large flat road behind the castle (15 min) and then we walk up for an hour on a narrow but easy path that leads to Profitis lIias.Along the walk, you will enjoy the view of Leros and Kos, Turkey, and all the villages of Kalymnos! You will see ancient wells, terraces and ruins, typical vegetation of Kalymnos such as thyme, oregano and sage. Aghios Konstantinos (Telendos): 3 hours hike to the ancient village and church of Telendos. Around 5 km Moderate walk. Departure from Myrties port with a fisherman boat to Telendos. We start with a charming walk along the village and seashore (10 min) to get to the narrow path that leads to Agios Konstantinos.Along the walk, you will enjoy the view of Kalymnos Islands, the beauties of Telendos and the clear blue water.
